Watch Ya Cah Go

Each and every morning, if the kids are awake when Neal leaves for work, they have to "watch his cah go." As soon as Neal sits down to put on his shoes, Parker begins jumping in place, saying, "I wanna watch ya cah go, I wanna watch ya cah go!" Neal gets in the car, while pajama-clad, gamenent dote*-toting Parker goes onto the front walkway, stands and waits for Neal to back up, and waves him all the way around the corner. Then the kids run to get the newspaper (which we receive despite our pleas to the Chronicle to quit delivering it!!!).

Not only do they watch Neal leave each morning, but anytime we have guests leave our home, we must all walk them out and "watch their cah go." Ah, the simple pleasures of a kids' routine life.

Waiting for Neal to back out. They know just where to stand to keep safe, don't worry. They don't move.

Waving goodbye as he passes by them.

Watching him back out, if you look closely, you can see him waving back.

* You can refer back to the entry on 27 March to read more about Parker's precious "gamenent dotes."

Ollie loves to stand on the sofa and wave to Tyler out the front window. Then he bursts into tears! Kids are so funny.

so cute... I remember that post... I get what the 'gamenent' part is... do you know what 'dote' means, or has he added that onto the end and it doesn't mean anything?

Can't wait to see you!

"dote" he said "shirt" when he first took a liking to my cast-off g-shirts, hence, gamenent dote. he still can't say his Rs, poor thing, and of course, his name is Parker, so he can't even pronounce his own name. Yet.

#1-Mia is figuring out we can do this from our patio. For now, we take Ryan to work, so it is only randomly we have to wave bye-bye.

#2-Garmenent-dote. This lady in church talked in RS Sunday about a time her son packed his own diaper bag. She walked into the chapel and he stood up with his garmenent-dote and said "SILKIE Mommy!" and held it up. Ooops!

#3-Can I see you when you are here? Let me know if it will work.

Yes, Parker is not allowed to bring "gamenent dotes" past the confines of our house/car. Neal is very embarrassed by them and keeps reminding me that I need to just make a blanket out of them, but that would require me to get out my sewing machine. :)
