Hmmmm . . .

I just received a collect call from an inmate in the local County Jail. I don't know why, but this is the second time this has happened since we've lived here. Now Neal wasn't home, so for a second I think maybe they wrongfully locked him up for something; maybe he got in an accident on his way home, who knows? Of course, I don't accept the call, but I do wonder if the person is really trying to call our home or if it's a wrong number. Neal is the Elders' Quorum President, and we do have a small bit of that "element" in our ward, but I don't think they'd call him. Would they? I guess I'll never know!

That was good for a laugh! My cousin got arrested the day before she went into the MTC b/c she got pulled over and there was a warrant in her name for an unpaid parking ticket (she'd moved and didn't get it)... can you beleive that? A warrant for a parking ticket! Neal doesn't have any of those does he? (just kiddin'!)

Sometimes they call random numbers to have you relay messages to other people. I'd get those calls all the time at one of my old jobs, and my dad got some the other day on his business line. I think it's a good idea not to pick up.

I found your blog via Tara's and it is a lot of fun! That is crazy about the inmates - we would always get the late night calls from the condo gate from random people wanting us to let them in. Creepy!
Have a great one!

I got some of those when I first moved into this house... from the State Pen, though. I finally had to call the phone company and make it so they couldn't call me anymore. Sometimes it was VERY late at night. SCARY!

It's a common scam. Go to: http://www22.verizon.com/pages/securityalerts/

Do not pick up those calls.
