Miles

Miles asked me the other day why I have pictures of him sleeping on my phone. I told him it's because it reminds me that he's still little. And who could resist?

Baseball season is here! New bats are in order. And cleats. Socks. Belts. Batting gloves. Etc.

If Miles ever stops loving Legos, he will cease to be Miles.

San Antonio with Audrey

San Antonio is such a fun town. Audrey and I had a great, but quick trip!

Dinner at Acenar, on the Riverwalk.

The Alamo the next day, before we headed home.

Science Fair x 3

Audrey has presented her science project three separate times now! She is getting pretty good at it. It started at the school STEM fair.

Impressing grown-ups with her research/knowledge.

Looking cute the night of the fair.

Next was the regional science fair, which took place on a Tuesday at UT Arlington. It was a long day of standing in front of the project waiting for judging. We didn't stay for the awards ceremony that evening, but it turned out that Audrey won second place in the Behavioral Sciences category, $75 in prize money, a nomination to enter her project in the Broadcom Masters (national science project competition) and an invitation to the Texas State Science Fair!

So off we went to San Antonio! Audrey and five of her classmates were to present, which meant four hours of standing by, waiting for judges to descend and inquire. Audrey did a great job (I assume); parents were not allowed in the room once the judging sessions commenced.

Audrey and her friends.

Six students from Young Academy; all girls!

My little pooj.

Quick break for lunch, then back for more judging. Later that afternoon, Audrey and I headed back home. We didn't stay for the evening ceremony, but had such a great time. Go Audrey!

Audrey's Birthday

I can't believe Audrey is thirteen. It boggles the mind, but she is wonderful and we are so proud of her and all that she is!

We had a fun day; Kobeya and cake as per usual.
Audrey and her friend, Mariah. They made this structure one morning at school. It is designed to protect the egg, suspended in the middle, from a high drop!

Audrey and me by the firepit in Bastrop over Spring Break.

Hibachi dinner!

She is catching up.

A fun book from Brama and Pa.

Teenager.

Wandering in the verdure.

Hill Country Trip

Little did we know when the year started that some or all of us would end up in Central Texas three times in one month, but oh well! We had a blast every time. For Spring Break, we wanted to get away, but not for too long and not TOO far away, so we chose a Hyatt Resort outside of Austin. It was lovely! We will definitely go back.
Walking along the river that runs through the resort.

Pondering life.

Free bike rentals!

Housekeeping staff who pose guys!

Parker photobomb in the lobby!

Chocolate fountain face!

Free tennis!

Alpaca friends!

Archery class!

Horseback riding!

Free s'mores every night!
Such a fun trip.

Audrey has found her people.

Audrey has had such a great year at her new school. She has really clicked with the girls there, and of course, the boys all drive her nuts and she could do without all of them. As it should be.
Her friend, Avery, had a fabulous birthday party: a murder mystery with a timehop sort of theme. Audrey was to be the character of a 17th century artist. We did our best. She had a blast!

Fast Cars

Parker got to experience an early birthday gift yesterday! I reserved a ride-along experience for him in a Lambourghini! Parker is totally obsessed with exotic cars, thanks mostly to Pa, who introduced him to the wodnerful BBC show, Top Gear. He had a blast riding in the awesomeness. Neal got to drive a Ferrari, which was pretty awesome, too.

Miles, Bear and the Lambo.

Getting safety-fied.

It was freezing.

I felt really weird posing my kids next to a car. But alas. Parker always grabs my phone when we are driving around the fancy part of town. Without fail, we see at least cone photo-worthy car. I have a bunch of blurry pictures of Maclarens on my phone! Haha.
