Weekend in Houston

Though it is hard for us to believe, Neal graduated from dental school ten years ago, in 2004. His fun classmates put together a reunion and Martha and Mark watched the kids, and the only thing left to do was to drive down there and go! So we did. We stayed at the lovely Houstonian Hotel near the Galleria, and couldn't believe how tropical Houston was upon our arrival. Downright jungly down there! It was fun to be in our old town, though. As much as I was ready to leave when it was time, we had so many good memories starting our family in Houston. It always makes me nostalgic and happy to visit. We headed over to the reunion downtown at Sambuca and were greeted by lots of friendly faces. I took most of these pictures from the group's Facebook page.

The next morning, we met for brunch at the resort with a select few classmates. What a lovely weekend!

Extras on Set

It's fun being friends with Glenn and Tania Beck. Every so often, we'll receive an email asking for our participation in an audience or some other sort of event. We found out about a taping for a promotional piece for one of the new shows on The Blaze, and headed over to Grapevine to take part. Once we finally got going, we had a lot of fun! We were asked to dress in fifties clothes, which, for us, is not terribly difficult. I'll share the final results if I ever see them! :)

Summer Fun, So Far

Miles jammed his pinky finger one day playing with Parker. We were worried that it might be broken, due to the intense bruising. We took Miles to Neal's office and used the x-ray machine to double check. It was fine!

Miles and I with our morning harvest one day.

Miles and I had a few days to ourselves while Audrey was at Girls' Camp and Parker was at a camp with his band. We ate out for lunch a couple of times. I love this dude.

Miles has made some epic lego creations already this summer. Here is his rendition of the first grade awards ceremony. He is receiving his medal from the principal, and I am at the piano.

Miles joined a little team, the Keller Legends, for a local baseball tournament.

The boys took Rusty down to DeSoto to pick up the bee colony.

We tried putting Trooper in the back of the truck for a Sunday drive. He loved it. And didn't jump out, as Audrey feared he would. Phew!

There was a fun Dr. Who Event at the local movie theater. They showed two episodes and an interview with David Tennant, who played the 10th Doctor. The kids had fun dressing up for the occasion. Miles was a mini-celebrity and had a few photo ops with strangers in the lobby!

Father's Day 2014

Neal had a great Father's Day, at least I think he did! He is the Stake Executive Secretary right now, so his calling keeps him super busy on Sundays. He was at the church building from 6 am-5 pm, but at least he got to come to Sacrament Meeting with us! We snuck outside for a pic really fast before his next meeting.

He had a late nap with Squabs and then we took Rusty out for a drive.

We had a fun Skype session with Pa and Neal was able to talk to his Daddy on Saturday. How grateful we are for all of these wonderful, selfless men who make our lives so wonderful!

Last Days of School

We had fun at all the kids' awards ceremonies the last few days of school. Miles did a great job in First Grade this year! Here he is with his Reading Olympics Championship medal and his friend, Jessie.

Last day of school morning donut run with our carpool buddies, the Hernandez boys.

A couple of weeks before school ended, Audrey was recognized for her high ACT score by the Duke Tip organization. It was a pretty cool ceremony, held at the University of North Texas.

She had a great year at Young Academy, and the faculty there put on a lovely awards ceremony.

Pics from Parker's year

Parker had a wonderful year at BCI in the Purple Pod! Here are some pictures that his teacher shared at the end of the year.

Here are a couple I took at one of their field trips and Olympic Day.
