2014 Year in Review

January: Mom and Dad came to visit. We skipped rocks and went rock climbing.

February: DI Regional Tournament; Miles tried out basketball; Parker and the Cold Bombers played in the talent show; Miles and his buddy did a comedy routine in theirs; Lincoln, Mimi and David came to visit and we went to the Great Wolf Lodge; Miles was in the science fair

March: Neal and Parker got to drive some really fast cars, we spent part of our Spring Break in Bastrop at a fun resort, Audrey turned 13, Audrey and I went to San Antonio for the State Science Fair

April: Parker earned his Arrow of Light, Audrey's DI Team was offered a bonus spot at State, so we went to Pflugerville; Parker turned 11 (Pa came for a surprise); Easter was pretty and spent with the Horns

May: Neal played with the band a little bit, Audrey was a hippie in a play, Miles went to the zoo with the first graders, I had to speak on Mothers' Day, my friends and I hosted a candidate forum, I went to Virginia

June: Audrey recognized for her ACT score, school ended, Girls' Camp, Father's Day, Dr. Who event at the movies, we got bees and harvested eggs and blackberries, we played baseball, we were in a fifties photo shoot, Neal and I went to Houston for his Dental School reunion

July: spent the Fourth in Nebraska, we went to see Aunt Zilla, a lot of time was spent in Utah (sans Neal), then California for a week (avec Neal), then back to Utah (sans Neal)

August: beach time in San Diego, Ogden Temple open house, Miles got a mini Cooper Lego set, school started, Lego KidsFest

September: Miles was baptized, three of us went to see the Piano Guys; we spent time at Hawaiian Falls, making the most of our passes; Neal played and sang in the band; Miles became a cub scout; we had fun with the chickens

October: Meet the Candidates Night, Neal and I went to Louisiana, Halloween was fun (Dr. Who, Lego man, squirrel head)

November: baseball season ended, Punkin Chunkin', Miles got glasses, Thanksgiving fun in Weatherford

December: TAGT Conference in Fort Worth, Parker's robotics competition, Audrey got an art award, DMCO concert, Barnes and Noble fun, Christmas piano recital for Miles and Audrey, Ice and the Nutcracker with the Lelands, Christmas in Keller and New Year's in Weatherford

2013 Year in Review

January: We had fun at the Perot Museum and Dave & Busters with cousins, Spelling Bees, Neal and I saw Keane in concert, Miles had the flu, Parker made a lemon battery for the science fair, Neal turned 38, Miles' first field trip (Stockyards), Western Day at Florence

February: We took in the symphony a couple of times, we celebrated Nelson's first birthday with family, Miles and Parker's musical performances at the Florence Talent Show, DI Regional Tournament, Sky Ranch with Parker's fourth grade, Parker bought a guitar and started rockin'

March: Parker hit two in-the-park homers in one game, we took an RV to Arkansas, Audrey had a campfire birthday party

April: we celebrated Easter with the Young family, we spent conference weekend in Weatherford, we went to Houston for State DI and relived old memories, Parker turned ten

May: Audrey won an art award and went to the temple, Pinewood Derby and Rangers games, Fathers and Sons Campout, Daddy Jeff's 80th birthday brought lots of Horns to town

June: end of baseball season; Spring piano recital; school ended; we went to Oklahoma to help tornado victims; great times at Girls' Camp; our friends, the Wrights, moved away; Parker performed with the Pickpockets

July: Horn Family reunion at Wildwood in Louisiana after some sight seeing and house touring, the Perot Museum, we celebrated Aunt Zilla's 95th birthday, Neal and I went to North Carolina (gorgeous), 

August: Amazing trip to Grand Cayman, Miles turned seven (Legoland!), school started, Audrey got her cast removed, Hawaiian Falls with buddies, and one last Rangers game

September: We drove to Canyon for Megan's wedding reception, then went to Arizona for Oliver's baptism and to see the Weises, Mom and I went and found one of her childhood homes in Dallas, we spread Sunshine for Jaylen

October: We spent Conference weekend in Weatherford, I started teaching Latin, Miles on crutches, my cloud picture in the paper, a fun Halloween

November: The end of baseball season, baby chicks, The Head and the Heart and Johnny Marr concerts, a tiny anniversary getaway, Audrey's market day, Thanksgiving in Boston with Elliott and family

December: Big huge ice storm, Medieval Times and Christmas + New Year's in Keller/Weatherford

2012 Year in Review

Another year has come and gone, and I am grateful that I kept track of it here on my blog. I could have done better, and I regret that, but it is what it is, so they say!

January

Poor little birdie, Twiggy, died * I quit blogging at A Room Somewhere * Julie, Walker, Claire, my dad, Mike and Steph all came to visit * Neal had a birthday *

February

We met our newest cousin, Baby Nelson * Audrey and I went to the Symphony in Dallas * We went to the Regional DI Tournament with Audrey and Parker's teams * We got a new bird, Tico

March

We went to Arizona for Spring Break and had fun with the Courts, some Parkers and the Rangers * Audrey turned eleven, and jumped in the pool *

April

We were in the swing of baseball season * Natalie came to visit * Parker turned nine * Neal took the kids to the State DI competition in Corpus Christi * Easter * Neal and Audrey went camping with friends * We helped break ground on a local church building

May

Parker and Trooper got major haircuts * More baseball (Parker playing catcher & Miles in the All-Star Game) * Piano recital * Audrey had her art in the local art show * School ended (preschool, third grade and fifth grade) * Girls' night painting pottery while the boys went camping * Pinewood Derby * Mother's Day * Daddy Jeff's Birthday * A trip to Athens, Texas * Charity Work * Aquarium Field Trip * End of school celebrations!

June

Horse Camp * Cub Scout Day Camp * Rangers Camp * Stephanies Court and Nielson came to town *  We bought a new car * We swam a lot * Neal and I went to a Coldplay concert * Rangers Games!

July

We went to Nebraska and Utah to spend time with our families. There, we celebrated birthdays and an anniversary with my parents, and the fourth of July with the Horn clan. * We had our backyard remodeled!

August

I was released from serving as Primary President. * School started! * Miles turned six. * We spent a fun day and night on the lake here in Dallas.

September

We went back to Arizona for Oliver's baptism! This time, on a plane. * The kids had flag day at school. * Bramma and Pa came to visit. * Baseball started again. * Neal and I went to a play in Fort Worth.

October

Audrey and I went to New York! * Mike and Stephanie came to town. * We had our family pictures taken. * Halloween was awesome.

November

DI started up again (just Audrey this time). * Election Day sadness. * Parker earned his Bear award at scouts. * More community service. * Parker went camping in his friends' backyard. * Thanksgiving at home with friends. * Neal and I celebrated 14 years of marriage. * Audrey had a recital with her singing group.

December

The kids played the piano a lot. * I turned 35. * The boys earned their yellow belts in karate. * A snowy Christmas! * A trip to Canyon. * New Year celebrations with cousins.

What a wonderful year, full of blessings and happiness. We are so loved by our Heavenly Father!
