We weren't ready to come home after California. To be honest, I'm never really ready to come home. I could travel non-stop and be fine with it. We drove back up to Utah with Ethan, Andrew, Julianne, Toni, Ben, Mom and Dad. Neal headed back to Texas, unfortunately, but somebody has to pay the bills. :/
Cuddling Ben was high on the priority list.
Cousin Ryan let the kids come tour his lab and learn about his PhD research. It was cool and he was really nice to do that for us, especially on short notice!
One night, we went to watch "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Sundance Summer Theater. It was a stormy night, though, so we only got through the first act when the rain and lightning became too much! We had to quickly descend the mountain, find each other, and get back to the house. Phew! It was an adventure.
We also happened to be in Utah during the Ogden Temple Open House. We met up with Georgia, Kevin, Emmaline, Oliver and Tucker and toured the beautiful temple. It was my kids' first temple open house, and we were able to see some of Uncle Tyler's beautiful design work. It was another neat, stormy day. Check out this crazy rain cluster we could see moving along from the parking lot!
Mimi and David joined us for a few days, too, just in time to celebrate a few August birthdays!
Audrey attended a Writing Camp at BYU every morning that week. Exploring Art through Writing was the title of the camp. She loved it!
Lots of times, there were far too many people in one vehicle up and down from the base to the house.
My friends, Tara and Tania brought their kids up one day for a lovely afternoon picnic in the sunshine.
Swimming at the Dastrups'!
Dad bought Mom tickets to see Paul McCartney one night while we were there, and offered me the second ticket! It was amazing, to say the least.
The same night, the rest of the gang went back to the summer theater to see the rest of the play!
Such fun, I wish vacations never had to end!
