Audrey's birthday party on Saturday was so much fun, even for the parents. We had it at a privately-owned ranch, just south of our neighborhood, and run by a very friendly couple. It was homey, quaint, and perfectly cowgirlie. Mr. Donny ran the show, taking the girls on a tour of the barn and saddling up two ponies for them to ride, taking us all on a hayride in the pasture, where we saw their resident alligator and some pretty wildlfowers. The kids even got to chase a goat around in a ring, trying to take a ribbon of its tail to win a prize (see video link from Audrey's blog). We finished the evening with cake, then smores around the firepit and some good laughs.
Basically, it was a dream day at the ranch for little Audrey and her friends. Here are some pictures, and for a more personal take on the evening's festivities, check out the birthday girl's blog.
My super-awesome horsie cake. I know, it's good, huh. Those boots bigger than the horses are the candles, fyi.
