. . . back of our necks gettin' nice and pretty. Okay, I don't think those are the real lyrics to that song, but summer is speedily on its way to Texas. It was 81 degrees in our house today. The a/c is about to get switched on. Some of you freezing folk may think that sounds lovely, and it was an incredibly beautiful day today. Once again, we got lots of work done in the yard and the kids became completely covered in filth from rolling down hills, but if you knew Texas summers like we do, heat is not a welcome thing. It is an ominous reminder of things to come. Oh, and I'm going to be great with child all summer. Great with child and in a swimsuit. I'm not sure I'm ready for that.
PS. I just looked up the lyrics to this Joe Cocker song, the words are as follows: "back of my neck gettin' dirt and gritty." I like mine better.

leslie! today it's snowing and really cold here. been 71 in the house all day and I finally warmed up after putting a sweatshirt on over my longsleeve shirt and taking a nap under a heavy fleece blanket. so think of denver and maybe you can cool off?? maybe we could just trade weathers for a day or two until it gets warm here again. . . :) love your blog! *kristen
it is really rainy and about 48 here in mesa. i am freezing. maybe i will like the hot summers. as long as i am not pregnant, i like the heat. we'll see if 112 is too much for me. i don't remember what heat like that feels like. and there is nothing cuter than a really pregnant lady in a bathing suit. especially when she is thin like you.
You'll do great Leslie! I don't know why, but I just thought of the "Olshan" foundation repair commercials "kinda glad ya didn't live here then"? COULD YOU IMAGINE? Pregnant in the summer of 1933, in HOUSTON, with NO A/C! I surely would have died!
les- you look better in a bathing suit pregnant than i do just normally! dude. you'll be great- i really want to come visit all ya'all sometime, hopefully this summer, eh? i'll brave the heat. and if you ever want to think about intense heat, my best friend ali will be in southern india for 4 months this summer. yes, without air conditioning, in extreme crowded poverty, with 100 degrees and 100% humidity! crazy!
