Spring Break: Houston & San Antonio

We headed back down to Houston and the Hill Country for Spring Break. What a nice time to visit! We stayed at the Houstonian, a nice old resort near the Galleria. That night, Audrey and I went to see one of her favorite musicians, Agnes Obel, in the Heights. What an awesome show; Audrey has such good taste. The next morning, we started out checking out our old digs, and even spent some time at the Rodeo! Here we are at Old Braeswood Park.

The next day, we headed north a bit to San Antonio. We had never seen the missions there before, and Miles had just learned about a few of them at school, so that was extra cool. They were beautiful! Missions San Jose and Concepcion.

Audrey's birthday!

We had fun with Audrey and her friends in Fort Worth for her sixteenth birthday. We started out the evening at Ephemera on West Magnolia, where we made custom mini terrariums. Then we walked down the road to Brewed for dinner, and slowly made our way up to Melt for dessert. Such a fun crew!

In our ward, around the girls' birthdays, everyone fills a chalkboard with their compliments and favorite things about the birthday girl! This was Audrey's board. :)

Talents and Scouts

Miles earned some awards at his international-themed pack meeting and nailed his guitar performance in the Florence Talent Show. Audrey accompanied him on the piano. So good!

Parker played with his band back in January at Creative Soul, and this seemed like a good post to throw the picture into.

Sunday Pics

Everybody looked really spiffy on Sunday, so we took a couple of pictures after church. Meredith helped. :)

Neal's Birthday

For Neal's birthday, he wanted to go to a fruit tree sale in Houston, so we did! Just a quick overnight in N. Houston, the tree sale in the morning, and then a little bit of leg-stretching at Huntsville State Park on the way home. Pie for the birthday boy!

Western Day 2017

It was our last Western Day at Florence Elementary School! Alas. It was fun, as usual. Here is Miles with Riccardo, John and Benjamin

January Fun

We had some fun in January. Neal and I went on a big group date with our friends, called an Adult Band Date. We headed down to Torchy's in Fort Worth, then over to Creative Soul School of Music to jam with everyone. I was on keyboards in my band and Neal was one of the singers in his. We loved it! Need to do it again.

Jon, Meredith and Tate came to stay with us off and on for a while. Jon was doing an internship in Dallas and his family would come on weekends, and sometimes stay for a week. We loved every minute with silly baby Tate!

One night, Meredith offered to straighten and curl Audrey's hair. Whoa!
