Washington, DC; Day Two

Day two was also our wedding anniversary! Yay for eighteen years! We spent the day at Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Ford's Theater.

The kids, with Henry and Sophie, on the porch overlooking the Potomac River.

Eighteen years!

Arlington National Cemetery was beautiful and peaceful.

Washington, DC; Day One

We had such a fun time visiting Julianne's family for Thanksgiving. It was made even more fun by the fact that my parents and Elliott's family were also in town for the holiday! On the first day, we hung out in Takoma with the Weises and got settled into our Air BnB house, just a couple of miles away.
Miles came for the babies. Sweet Helena was blessed while we were there.

We had fun with Ben at the playgrounds.

Piled in the back of Julianne's car.

We attended an evensong service at the National Cathedral. It was gorgeous!

A chilly day on the mall, in between some museuming.

Back to some snuggling with Helena.

Longhorn Council Scout Camporee

Neal and Parker attended the Camporee event at the Texas Motor Speedway Friday and Saturday. Apparently, they had a good time! It was a Highland Games-themed event, so they participated in activities in the Scottish tradition. Here are some pics!

Baseball Guys

The boys had awesome Fall baseball seasons this year. They both played on the Rangers: Miles in 10U and Parker in 14U. We loved Miles' coach so much. He is the grandpa of one of the boys and likes to call Miles "Toy Cannon."

Miles pitched, played catcher and first or second base. He had a great season! I don't have as many pictures of Parker playing because it is not as cute to take pictures of 13 year olds. He excelled on first base for most of the season.

Neal and his dad took the boys to one of the Texas Rangers' playoff games. I love this picture so much!

Lights Festival

Miles, Audrey and I had such a fun night at the Lights Festival about an hour south of our house. We arrived before dark and had some dinner from the food trucks, then spent time decorating our lanterns and just chilling waiting for launch time. When it was actually time, it all went so fast! It was absolutely gorgeous! Audrey did a really good job drawing little tribute birds on our lanterns with the Sharpie the organizers provided.

Adele with Friends

My friends and I were lucky enough to score tickets to see Adele last year, and tonight was the night of the show! We had a lot of fun: Shake Shack first, and then the concert!

It was amazing!

Halloween 2016

We had a fun Halloween week this year. Neal and I even dressed up, for an adult party at our friends, the Murrays' house. We were Vincent VanGogh and Andy Warhol. Who knows why, just thought it was a funny idea. :)

Our friend, Scott, was an impeccable Dr. Spock!

We spent some time at the Florences' house for FHE, carving pumpkins and looking at the cool record player that Brother Florence used on his mission to native people in Guatemala. The missionaries there, back in the 80s, used these to play parts of the lessons in the native language. It was the coolest thing.

Miles dressed as a Dementor from Harry Potter for Halloween. This is him at Storybook Character Day at school. He had to bring a book to go with his costume.

We always have fun at the ward party, too! My friend, NaYoung, and I wore very similar outfits. :)
With our friends, the Baileys.

Sweet friends, Lauren and Alecia.

Audrey and Julia.

Audrey was a sort of autumnal princess, while Parker went the dark route with Miles and dressed as a Plague Doctor. Yikes!

Parker and his friends from school.

Trick-or-treating was fun, even though Neal and I only had Miles with us. We went to our friends, the Mendenhalls' house and Miles went around with his buddy, Matthew.
