Campers be camping.

The first two weeks of summer around here mean camps. Girls' Camp, Scout Camp and Cub Scout Camp! All so fun and everyone returned in one piece. Hooray!
All clean on the day the Deacons left for Scout Camp! Neal is the Scoutmaster so he got to go, too.

At dinner one night!

Accumulating dirt.

Parker got to help with a flag retirement ceremony one evening.

Madie, Julia and Audrey heading off to ward girls' camp!

As one of the "experienced" riders, Audrey got to ride one of the more difficult horses.

With her best buds: Madie, Nikel and Julia. I love these girls!

Miles had a fun week at Cub Scout Day Camp with his buddies. Here he is with Matthew and Connor.

BB guns every day!

The Slip 'n Slide was a must. So hot!

Miles will be an 11-year-old scout next summer, so no more Cub Scout Day Camp for us! Alas.

Baseball rules.

There was a week that Miles and I had a lot of time to ourselves. Audrey was at Girls' Camp and Neal and Parker were at Scout Camp, so we went out to the Frisco Rough Riders' game! They are a minor league team that plays nearby. We sat right behind home plate next to a bunch of MLB scouts. It was pretty cool!

Spectators taking to the trees at one of Miles' springtime games.

Parker after a particularly awesome game with the Orioles.

Miles with his Rangers team. They had an incredible season!

Miles and Parker both played on their league All-Star teams and they did awesome! Miles' team won the tournament! Here he is with some of his fellow Rangers: Britten, Jack and Maddox.

End of School!

There are always lots of things going on at the end of the school year. We like to be sure to get pics to commemorate them!
Miles' Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Wimberley, will be moving to another school next year. We got her original class together for a picture. Next year, they will be fourth graders!

Miles getting a hug from his sweet teacher, Mrs. O'Quinn, on the Florence stage.

Miles won the Student Council election and will be the Treasurer for the school next year! I was so proud of him. Here is his little speech.

Here is Parker with Mr. Fuchs, who has been such a big part of his life for two years now!

Audrey won the K Award for German I Pre-AP, which means she had the highest grade in the class across all sections! She loves her German class! Here she is with one of our other Young Women, Autumn.

Audrey also was awarded a Green Cord recognition for completing 100 hours of community service during the school year. Yay, Audrey! This is her after the ceremony, in her poop emoji dress that we love so much.

Miles and Audrey both had their artwork featured at City Hall this year. Here is Miles with his self portrait.

Audrey's dear friend, Annika, graduated! She is fabulous and headed off to college this fall!

She was my student, too, so I hopped in the pic!

Miles and his buddies. Up top is Michael and below are Harrison and Benjamin. It's so fun to see these kids grow up together year after year.

Having fun with buddies at the end-of-year party at the Keller Pointe.

Audrey's seminary teachers (three of them!) are all dear family friends. She was so blessed to learn from them every morning this year!

A visit with new cousins!

Well, I suppose they aren't new cousins, but we had never previously met them, and we had a blast with the Tidwells! Can't wait until they come back through Dallas.

Parker and Clay had fun jamming.

We took the kids to Main Event, which was a huge hit!

Neal's band was playing up in Roanoke, so we had a fun time up there. This picture was taken right after Miles, Corban and Parker ate some seriously sour candy.

Magnolia Market Trip

I had such a fun time on Friday driving down to Waco with some friends to check out the Magnolia Market! I had gone once before, with Neal, but of course it's a whole different thing to go with 18 girlfriends! We left around 9 and arrived around 10:45, shopped the market then ate lunch out on the lawn. The food trucks are amazing and it was absolutely perfect weather for lounging about for a while.
Then we walked down the street a bit to a cute shop called The Findery. My friend, Lindsey, kept snapping pictures of me I guess she liked my outfit? She is crazy. I was calling her my paparazzi.

Post-shopping, pre-lunch!

We had yummy sandwiches and then some crepes! This is me with Alecia and Sheryl. They are dear friends!

Lastly, we stopped at Harp Design Co, which is also featured on Fixer Upper. This shop was super cool. There were a few things I wanted, but the quantities were limited and my friends snatched them up. Alas!

Seriously, the best weather! We have had the best winter ever.

Waiting to order at the Milo truck. Yum!

Februaryness

Life is crazy busy and full of wonderful things! Sometimes it's good to just dump all the photos! :)
February means Western Day at Florence Elementary!

Miles and his buddies on Western Day (Kel, Benjamin, Cameron, Miles and Michael).

Neal joined a music group with some guys from church. They played at a local taco joint and it was a fun night! He plays the cajon and sings. This picture is funny because since he sits on the cajon, he looks tiny.

Audrey, Julia and Madie before a fireside one evening. These girls have been buds since they were seven!

Miles made it into the spelling bee at school. I think he ended up in seventh place, which was pretty good, since it was out of 30-something kids, most of whom were fourth graders!

Audrey's painting won third place in her age group at a local art contest. Here, she is shaking hands with the dignitary in attendance (a member of the library board). Ha!

My dear friend, Jill, had a sweet little baby boy this month, and Miles never minds when I'm late picking him up from their house after school. Jill snapped this one afternoon.

It's not a good idea to sit in this seat if Trooper is in the car. He claims it regardless.

Audrey and some of her Mia Maid buddies before a stake dance. Cute girls!

People over here still read a lot. Especially through meals . . .

We had this little green anole living in our front window for months. He was so quiet and peaceful, and we assume he was eating bugs. He was also nearly impossible to catch. Until one day last week. Audrey nabbed him, gave him a smooch and put him in a tree out front. We're pretty sure he'll be better off. But it's kind of hard to know! Life seemed pretty good for him there in the window.
