Texas is crazy for many reasons. This week, it's the weather. On Sunday afternoon, it was 75 degrees, with 92% humidity. (Yes, we live nearer to the equator than you do.) The kids were getting themselves psyched up for our trip to Hawaii in June, and put on their new swimsuits to play outside.
By tonight, we're supposed to have ice on the roads and, as the weatherman put it, "ice falling out of the sky." The high will be around 34. You can tell this doesn't happen around here too often, since the news people don't even know what to call cold weather.Parker's preschool was cancelled today. It's just "too cold" to make a 3-year-old go outside!

be careful if you have to drive - freezing rain is like driving on a wet ice skating rink!!

I know, isn't it crazy!? We got a phone call at 10pm last night that preschool was canceled... hopefully the 'ice storm' doesn't cause too much trouble.

We FINALLY got a little snow today, and the kids were out this morning building a "snowpatch" as Emma so endearingly calls it!
seriously crazy stuff for us - I'm a total wimp - CO will be a SERIOUS wake-up call for me...I may just be coming to visit and thaw out more often than I had thought...I'm going to have some piping-hot hot chocolate as we speak - brrrr.

The same thing just happened here, but our highs were in the 50's.. but it got to be freezing at night. Seems so odd since we hit 80 last week! I really dislike the humidity. This dry heat is lovely!

Yikes! I am glad I am not in TX right now! Do you guys even have warm clothes to wear? I realized I didn't when I moved over here and they had a cold front come through. I didn't even have a sweater! Good reason to go shopping.:)
